About this center
The city of St Albans was founded in 948 AD by Abbot Ulsinus, although it had already been an important settlement under different names for more than a thousand years before that. The first known evidence of a town here dates from the first century BC when the Celtic Catuvellauni tribe moved their base from Wheathampstead to the banks of the River Ver and called it Verlamion the “settlement above the marsh”. When the Romans conquered Britain in AD 43 they established a city, Verulamium, which became the third largest in the country. Despite being sacked by Boudicca in AD 60, this city survived until well after the legions left in the early fifth century and then as a Saxon community called Watlingchester or Verulamchester.
The business centre itself is located on a small business park near to the historical town center and a stones throw form St Albans Abbey and the ancient Roman site. It offers first class business facilities, which include a newly refurbished reception and stylish public areas. It has 3 meeting rooms, which can accomodate from 2 to 20 people, and offers state of the art video conferencing facilites.
The St Albans centre is in a prime business location close to the national motorway and train networks and within easy reach of Luton and Heathrow Airports. The centre is easily reached from the M25 and M1 and offers convenient access by public transport - St Albans city station is adjacent to the complex. Luton Airport is a 20 minute drive and Heathrow and Stanstead Airports are 45 minutes away.
